More Virginia Leaders Announce Support for Jay Jones for Attorney General

Growing Group of Leaders Backing Jones Includes Delegate Katrina Callsen and Every Member of the Arlington County Board

Norfolk, VA — Today, additional leaders from across the Commonwealth, including Delegate Katrina Callsen and every member of the Arlington County Board, announced their support for Jay Jones in the Democratic primary for Attorney General in 2025.

Today’s announcement comes less than a week following Jones’ announcement that he raised $945,380 in 2024 and has more than $785,000 cash-on-hand, both of which are the highest at this point in the cycle of any non-incumbent Democratic candidate for Attorney General in Virginia history.

“Jay Jones is thoughtful, relentless, and committed to the work necessary to protect our rights and keep us safe,” said Arlington County Board Vice Chairman Matt de Ferranti.“I support him because he is right on the issues, shares my values, and is the best choice to win back the Attorney General’s office In November.”

“The Attorney General represents Virginians, and Jay will strongly advocate for us,” said Arlington County Board Member Julius D. “JD” Spain, Sr. “From consumer protection and public safety to public education, mental health, environmental issues, access to justice, and more, Jay is committed to fighting for the people, not special interests.”

“In the coming years, we are going to need a champion who stands up to the Trump administration on critical issues like public education and reproductive rights,” said Fairfax School Board Member Kyle McDaniel. “Jay Jones has a proven track record as a fighter for the issues we value as Democrats, and I believe he’ll be the champion we need in Richmond as our Attorney General.”
