Former First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe, Former Rep. Tom Perriello Lead Latest Group of Leaders Announcing Support for Jay Jones for Attorney General
Growing Group of Virginia Leaders Announce Support of Jones’ Historic Campaign on Behalf of Virginia’s Families
Norfolk, VA — Today, additional leaders from across the Commonwealth, including former First Lady Dorothy McAuliffe and former Rep. Tom Perriello (VA-5) announced their support for Jay Jones in the Democratic primary for Attorney General in 2025. To date, Jones has received endorsements from 122 Virginia Democratic leaders, including Governor Ralph Northam, Governor Terry McAuliffe, Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, and Rep. Eugene Vindman.
Today’s announcement comes a day after Jones announced his record-breaking fundraising haul with over $925,000 raised in the first quarter and nearly $1.5 million cash on hand. Jones’ amount raised in the first quarter of the on-year is the most by any down ballot statewide candidate in Virginia history. Jones also boasts the most cash on hand for any challenger running for Attorney General at this point in the cycle in Virginia history. This brings Jones’ total cycle raised to over $1.8 million since launching his campaign.
“Virginia families need Jay Jones fighting for them in the Attorney General’s office,” said Dorothy McAuliffe. “I’m proud to support Jay for Attorney General because he will truly keep our communities safe and protect our freedoms with the boldness these challenging times demand.”
“I’m honored as our movement continues to grow with the support of these Democratic leaders from across Virginia,” said Jay Jones. “Every day, we are proving to our Commonwealth and our nation that we will never stop fighting for our families, our freedoms, and our democracy.”
